23 mai "May Souls Rest"I write now to you more then when you were alive.
I ask not to be forgiven, no excuses do I offer,
No pardon do I expect for my life.
Young was I, when you went off in to the abbyss,
Another of many times.
How was I to know, this would be the end of it.
You never just left home that day, you exited all our lives.
I guess I had forgotten, that which haunts me now
The love of a brother I missed, the experience of his life in mine.
I am an undergraduate of life, going to U Pain,
I did not learn fast enough.
Missed you, worried and went on
Believed in, wondered who? You'd become...
Many, by that I mean a few times, I began a letter to you.
I don't think I ever finished any, I know I never sent one.
You sent me a FEW letters, at the Beggining and the End
First to say bye, and then hello again.
You came up away from what you knew
To a family member that wanted the best for you.
Things were rough, as they are seldom smooth.
You were tough, but couldn't pull through
Went back to that love you thought was true,
A decision that was a mistake too.
A mother, who's pain unimaginable,
The tragedy the same, unimaginable.
And you in true style, Fashionably late
Show up in a letter to speak beyond the grave.
It was at Christmas time, you sent this message to me
And I, use to your absence never thought
I was missing anybody.
I promise I'll read it, then fold it up neatly.
and Keep it with your photos and Irn.
My children will never know,
Only be told of an Uncle, they see in passing photos.
As I wipe tears from my eyes, Playing your life through my mind.
I'd build a bridge, sail a boat or swim
If I had to , for us to be close again.
